SUSPECT
A system for playing games of deception, deduction, and discovery.
SOLVING A MYSTERY
To play, you’ll need one or two hours, pencils, a notebook, and some snacks.
Players take turns to act as the Investigator, as they seek out the truth and crack the case.
The other player takes on the role of various Suspects, testing their memory as they answer the Investigators questions.

So, uh, I started with the 2e rules and couldn't really get how the game was played. Then I went back and read this.
These rules are an order of magnitude clearer. What made you go to a more complicated ruleset with more terse, difficult to understand phrasing?
Maybe the new rules seem clearer if you read these first, but they're extremely confusing if you start with them.
